Coombe Wood Golf Club - Kingston-on-Thames

The Coombe Wood Golf Club covers 67 acres of the historic Coombe Estate. Its first Captain was A.J. Balfour in 1904 - the then Prime Minister. Its course is famed for seven challenging Par 3s complemented by tree lined Par 4s with blind tee shots and heavily bunkered greens. The course was extended in 1922 to 18 holes with a par of 66 under the Club Captain Field Marshal Earl Haig. The current members club was founded in 1936 and with a 14 year lease from the landowners. In 1994 after a succession of lease extensions the Club purchased a new 125 year lease from Kingston Council thus securing the Club for generations of members to come. Whatever your standard of golf you will always receive a warm greeting at Coombe Wood. The friendliest members club in Surrey welcomes societies, visitors and has room for a few new members in 2005. It became their house in the country, created for entertainment and to impress their friends and business associates. The magnificent 16th-century stables survive largely intact. Hampton Court Palace

For over 500 years, Hampton Court Palace has stood serenely on the banks of the River Thames. Many important historical figures, including 12 monarchs, have fallen helplessly for her charms. Will you join them? One of Henry VIII's most enduring passions was for the palace on the Thames. To this day, you can still experience the beauty that so enthralled him, as you stroll around six acres of magnificent buildings. Each and every corner will capture your heart. Beneath the colonnade in Clock Court is the entrance to the King's Apartments lovingly restored to their full glory after the fire of 1986. Here, you'll find the King's Great Bedchamber and his Eating Room as well as the magnificent King's Staircase.

Fulham Football Club

Like Bolton, Fulham began life as a church side - the Fulham St Andrew's Church Sunday School FC - back in 1879. But they became just plain Fulham FC in 1888 and in 1896 they would take up residence at Craven Cottage. Their history was not a glorious one until they achieved promotion to the top-flight for the first time in 1959, with club heroes Johnny Haynes and George Cohen playing massive parts in keeping them there until 1968. The Seventies in Division Two would also be interesting, with the likes of Bobby Moore, George Best and Rodney Marsh playing their aging trade there.

Loftus Road has a compact feel, as the ground is totally enclosed, with supporters being close to the pitch. An unusual aspect is that all four stands are roughly the same height, their roofs meet at all four corners with no gaps. The South Africa Road Stand on one side of the ground, has a larger upper tier, compared to the lower tier, with a row of executive boxes running across the middle. There are a couple of supporting pillars in this stand. The other side, the Ellerslie Road Stand, is single tiered, with a television gantry suspended below its roof. Both ends are similar looking two tiered stands.

Chelsea Football Club

Chelsea have always done things differently. Their beginnings were certainly unusual;the club had a ground before they were formed, and were elected to the Football League without even playing a match. Success, though, wasn't so easy to obtain and 1955's league title was the club's first major honour. 1970 witnessed more silverware in the form of the FA Cup and the European Cup-Winners Cup followed a year later. But the 'golden era' was short-lived and by 1975 the 'twilight years' had begun with the club struggling both on and off the pitch. Fact:Stamford Bridge was originally offered to Fulham to play there but they declined the chance and so Chelsea took the chance instead.
